Botswana Power Corporation (BPC) Maun has donated stationery to Bana Ba Letsatsi in Maun, a gesture aimed at supporting learners in their academic journey.

The donated stationery is intended to assist students by providing essential learning materials and easing resource constraints at the Centre. The Centre expressed sincere appreciation to the BPC team, thanking them for their generosity and continued commitment to supporting education and community development in Maun.

BPC, in partnership with the Botswana Police Service and several organizations – including BTC, LSC Security, Security Systems, Gaborone City Council, Mascom, and Orange Botswana – recently carried out a successful Motshelo Joint Operation. Coordinated by SSKA Police Station and Mmopane Police Post, the initiative aimed to strengthen collaboration in combating vandalism, theft, and related crimes affecting communities and infrastructure.

The operation mobilized 90 officers from multiple police stations and targeted areas such as Gaborone North, Mmamashia, Mmopane, Ledumadumane, and local scrap metal dealerships. Supported by the Special Support Group’s dog and horse units, teams conducted foot and mobile patrols, vehicle stops, and searches. The increased law enforcement presence acted as a strong deterrent, leading to the questioning of several individuals linked to vandalism and copper theft.The exercise underscored the effectiveness of multi-stakeholder cooperation in maintaining public safety and protecting national assets.

The Botswana Power Corporation (BPC) Wellness Section recently held a strategic engagement meeting with Sidilega Private Hospital, aimed at fostering a collaborative partnership focused on enhancing employee health and wellbeing.

This initiative seeks to ensure that BPC employees particularly those working in high-risk and critical roles have access to quality, reliable healthcare.Their dedication is vital to maintaining the uninterrupted supply of electricity, a service fundamental to the functioning of the nation.

This morning, Botswana Power Corporation commemorated Breast Cancer Awareness Month in Kanye by bringing together employees from Lobatse, Kanye, and Goodhope to share information and raise awareness about breast cancer.

Guest Speaker Mr. Thebe Lesole, Principal Health Officer from Kanye DHMT – Health Promotion Division, encouraged employees to regularly check and know their breasts to identify any abnormalities or changes such as nipple inversion, unusual discharge, or lumps, and to visit health facilities promptly for assessment.

Mr. Lesole also reflected on this year’s theme, “Every Story is Unique, Every Story Matters,” reminding participants that behind every cancer statistic is a real person — each with their own emotions, struggles, victories, and hopes. No two cancer journeys are the same, yet each story holds the power to inspire, educate, and bring comfort to others.

Ms Malebogo Paulos, a senior nurse from Kanye Adventist Clinic demonstrated the steps for monthly breast self-examination, emphasizing that early detection plays a crucial role in successful treatment and that cancer can be eliminated if detected early.

The initiative was proudly supported by Kanye DHMT as part of ongoing efforts to promote health awareness and encourage preventive care among BPC employees.

The Environmental Team under the SHER Department embarked on a tree planting initiative in collaboration with the Strategy and Human Resources (HR) teams. The Strategy Team generously donated ten (10) trees, while the HR Team contributed eight (8) trees, demonstrating their commitment to environmental sustainability.

A total of eighteen (18) trees were planted, comprising a mixture of fruit trees such as lemon, guava, and mango and shade trees, including modutu, motsentsela, and leopard tree. This collaborative effort underscores Botswana Power Corporation’s dedication to achieving its environmental objectives and promoting a greener, more sustainable BPC works to acheieving. As a corporation, we recognize that the power we produce should not only drive economic growth but also nurture and protect the environment that sustains us. By planting these trees, we are actively contributing to carbon sequestration, biodiversity conservation, and improving air quality within our communities.
