On the 27th of April, 2019 Botswana Power Corporation joined Botswana Telecommunications Corporation Foundation which is responsible for delivery and management of BTC’s Corporate Social Investment agenda, as they hosted a charity walk in Moshupa. This walk attracted multitudes of walkers among them government officials, BTC staff, the Bogosi and other passionate well-wishers, some of which came from as far as Lesotho.
BPC found it fit to participate in this event as part of its CSR initiatives, as this was a walk aimed at changing the lives of Batswana. A charity walk has two benefits – it’s healthy as its part of an exercise and it is also an upliftment remedy to someone in the society, so BPC participated to unite with other entities and individuals as a just and caring nation.
Our First Lady Mrs Neo J. Masisi graced the event as the Chief Walker. The walk was divided into 15km and 30km distances. Team BPC participated in both the 15 and 30 km distance, the route started from the kgotla towards Manyana and back to the kgotla. The route was challenging as it involved rope climbing when crossing the river, however the walkers got to experience a scenic landscape and the rich history of the village.
