The Board of Directors for Botswana Power Corporation wishes to announce that the Corporation’s Chief Executive Officer, Dr Stefan Peter Schwarzfischer will part ways with the Corporation at the end of its 2018/19 financial year to pursue new opportunities.
Dr. Schwarzfischer has been at the helm of the Corporation since 1st November 2016 during which time he has dedicated much effort towards the implementation of its Masa 2020 Transformation Strategy. Some tangible results have already emerged during his tenure, such as an improved financial position which has reduced the amount of Government subsidy, electricity connection turnaround time reducing from 37 days to 10 days, completion of the Masa 2020 rightsizing exercise and infusing pride at work amongst employees.
Dr Schwarzfischer has partnered the Corporation with local communities across Botswana on various initiatives that gave mileage to the BPC brand, including a number of corporate social responsibility projects that he took to heart. The BPC Board, Management team and our employees thank Dr Schwarzfischer for his contribution to the Corporation and wish him well in his future endeavors.
The Chief Financial Officer, Mr. Cross Kgosidiile has been appointed as Acting Chief Executive Officer effective Monday 18th March 2019 until a substantive replacement has been recruited.
