BPC adopts Ngarange Primary

​Through its Corporate Social Responsibility program (CSR), the Botswana Power Corporation has reacted promptly to the call by the Ngarange Primary School management, to help the school address its challenges.

In his Key note address, BPC Chief Executive Officer, Dr Stefan Schwarzfischer, appreciated the needs assessment analysis that was carried out by BPC CSR team, saying the overall engagement with the school identified key areas of a provision for quality education.

"We chose to support the school's Annual Prize Giving ceremony as it motivates pupils to inculcate the culture of competitiveness in education," Dr Schwarzfischer told the gathering.

At the same occasion, BPC sponsored the prize giving ceremony and provided prizes for all the best performers in academics and extra-curricular activities. Achievers received the prizes in a form of medals, trophies and educational hampers.

On a word of advise, Dr. Schwarzfischer urged best performers, that "the awards should serve as an incentive towards achieving successful results in your academic and personal lives in the future".

He encouraged those that did not do well to learn from the successes of their peers and strive to receive their awards next year. With regard to the refurbishment of the library, Dr Schwarzfischer said he was confident that the structure would provide harmonious environment that support studying and research for both pupils and teachers.​
