Major transmission infrastructure development

Botswana Power Corporation has successfully connected the Segoditshane-Thamaga 220kV line & Mogoditshane-Molepolole 132kV line into Rakola 220/132kV Substation on the Sunday, 08 October 2017. The substation is located 7km from Gabane village.

Amongst the milestones achieved in relation to the transmission network infrastructure developments was the commissioning of the Rakola 220/132kV substation comprising 2x125MVA transformers and the two (2) parallel 220kV Over Head Lines (80km each) from Isang 400/220kV substation to Rakola 220/132kV substation during the previous week.

Another recent major asset addition to the Transmission Network was 2x40MVA 220/66kV transformers at Isang 400/220kV substation to provide power supply to Masama/Makhujwane/Serorome WUC well fields. This project was commissioned & energized late August 2017.​
